I used to write poetry as a teenager. Used to only because these days I don't write anything apart from mediocre copy, sales reports, fucking business emails and superlative grocery lists. But today I read some of the stuff I'd written and kept secret all this while. Then I thought why not share with you guys some of the poems in order to feel that I've earned the right to an evil smirk. Here's one for now:
Before you folks go ahead n read this...lemme tell you..I am proud that in my childhood too I was pretty mature enuf to understand what life at dat time meant
and was like....and now as I read dis poem...Is till feel I can re-connect to my thoughts penned down years ago even today....
Story Of My Life....!!
The story of my life is told by everyday events
The plans I make, the things I say and do....
The story of my life is told by the depressing days
By the strength of faith I launch myself into....
The story of my life is told by all the good days
And accomplishments that make my dreamz come true....
The story of my life is told by others who are blessed
With thoughtfulness & the talents that they share....
And the story will go on ‘coz another chapter is written
In the lives I touch & the ways I love and care....!!
