Brutally Biased Media...!!!

Just in ma last blog I had titled ma love for rains as "Love the skies weeping copiously.." but I am disheartened and sad that the clouds could swarm its tears with an outburst like what it did to Leh :(

The cloud bursts In Leh certainly is so disastrous and actually took 100's of lives and left thousands homeless. Rainfall is very, very scarce in the Ladakh region—it’s a dry, high-altitude region—so when it does happen it causes havoc because the houses and towns aren’t designed to deal with it. I guess I can imagine the havoc n ruins :( ma heart goes to all suffering.

Also, I was watching the coverage of the flood/cloud burst in Leh by CNN IBN this noon:

Three moments I would like to highlight:

1. When it comes to Kashmir, you need to reconcile yourself to a few facts. First, you know as little about the goings-on there as the Indian news media condescends to tell you. And second, you know as much about the happenings there as you delve through alternative sources for news. And a corollary to the first would be that you believe as much rubbish as media wants you to.

2. They showed various statues of god i.e, small Buddhist monasteries, submerged in water and the correspondent’s voice rang forth “…even God cannot save them”

Hmmmm...even God cant save them. Even God can’t save us. What does that tell you?

3. Last shot (in which the correspondent proudly says her name and the channel she works for) in this case was a picture of her sailing through the flood waters (for effect of course) while two poor elderly and frail looking male flood victims pushed the makeshift bamboo shoot boat she sat on.

I mean this doesn’t exactly paint the perfect picture of a concerned journalist trying to evoke sympathy in viewers while at the same time projecting an image of herself/ her channel as getting down and dirty by reporting from ground zero, does it?

Lol...now as I have penned down my thoughts even I might be detained for writing this, and you for reading. These days you never know what constitutes “public safety”!!!!!! There is so much more I want to express when it comes to media exaggerating facts weaving them into stories jus for their fuckin TRPs..!! But for now I jus leave it to dis much..maybe sometime soon...and please help me hire a good lawyer if I get behind bars for voicing ma honest opinions ;)

  1. You hav hunted the hunter… It reminds me my close relative case when she met with an accident and was dying road side; this reporter was busy in taking photos for his news instead of taking her to hospital… Media needs to little ethical and sensible… rather than just running for TRPs.
